Federal Government shuns the agricultural sector again

Low fruit crop yields and prices have caused problems for some growers. Dr Sharman Stone, Federal Member for Murray said “pear crop yields have dropped by 40%. The pear intake this year for SPC Ardmona (SPCA) was only 23,000 tonnes compared to 35,000 tonnes four years ago.” “As for peaches, SPCA only took in 34,000 tonnes this year as compared to 54,000 tonnes four years ago,” Sharman Stone said...
